Paint your base a muted oak brown (#5A493C) to match the shelf wood.

Darken the underside with #302A26 so the shelf shadow swallows your outline.

Add a thin #8D7460 edge highlight to fake a book-spine seam.
- 4
Lie Flat against the back panel and tilt about -12° to follow a leaning stack.

Hunters scan the shelf at eye level; if your top edge breaks the straight line of book spines, they spot you.
