Meccha Chameleon Workshop Download Stuck — Custom Map Fix
A subscribed Workshop map won't finish downloading, or mod sync stalls when joining a lobby.
A Meccha Chameleon Workshop download stuck at 0% (or stalled mid-sync) is almost always a Steam download-cache or queue issue. The steps below force the custom map content to finish downloading cleanly.
How to set it up
- 1
Restart Steam and re-trigger the download
Fully quit and reopen Steam, then open Downloads. A stuck Workshop item often resumes immediately once the download queue is restarted.
- 2
Clear the Steam download cache
Go to Steam → Settings → Downloads → "Clear Download Cache" and sign back in. This wipes a corrupted queue entry that commonly freezes Workshop downloads.
- 3
Unsubscribe and resubscribe to the map
On the Workshop page, unsubscribe from the stuck map, restart Steam, then resubscribe. This forces a fresh download of the custom map files.
- 4
Check disk space, region, and firewall
Ensure you have free disk space, switch the Download Region (Settings → Downloads) to a nearby alternative, and allow Steam through your firewall/VPN so content servers aren't blocked.
- 5
Verify game files to repair mod sync
If joining a lobby stalls on "syncing", verify integrity of game files (Steam → Properties → Installed Files). Both players being on version 1.9.0 also keeps Workshop content in sync.
FAQ
- The download sits at 0 bytes forever. What's wrong?
- That's the classic stuck-queue symptom. Clear the download cache, restart Steam, and switch download region. Unsubscribing/resubscribing usually unblocks the last cases.
- Do I need the same map as the host to join?
- Yes — the host's custom map must download/sync to your machine. If sync hangs, finish the download via the steps above before rejoining.
